Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.-
The submission has not been previously published or proposed to another journal.
- The article must be uploaded in Word format and anonymous (the Author's name must also be removed from the properties of the Word file).
- Each article, including footnotes and references, should not exceed 35.000 characters (including spaces and references).
- If the paper includes tables or figures, please make sure they are of good quality. You can attach them in a separate file.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY
Each author can, immediately after the pubblication and without any time embargo, freely share his/her manuscript, the submitted version, in Word, or to other formats as it was originally delivered for pubblication – i.e. without our processing elaboration, submission, revision, editorial layout, etc. –, in green open access, on websites or online archives or repositories, citing the publisher and the document's DOI in the descriptive record as well as the mention "All rights reserved".
Each author can share – with an embargo of 18 months – the accepted version of his/her article, revised, edited, produced and owned by the publisher for the exlusive use in its publication, on websites, on online or on repositories, citing the publisher and the document's DOI, in the descriptive recors as well as the mention "All rights reserved".
The editor contractually provides each author, free of charge, as digital offprint, a PDF of the final processed and published version of his/her revised and accepted article, for strictly personal use only. The copyright of this final processed and published PDF and of all previous PDF versions use in the various proofreading processing stages is wholly owned by the publisher, as the original manuscript has been processed (revised, edited, produced, etc.) by Vita e Pensiero editore in order to be used exclusively in its own printed and online publications. This final processed and published PDF contractually cannot, in whole or in part, be shared in open access, on websites (e.g. academia.edu, etc.) or online archives or repositories, without the written permission of the publisher.
OPEN CHOICE
Studi di Sociologia offers the possibility to author to contractually choose to share the final processed and published PDF of his/her article revised, edited, produced and owned by the publisher for the exclusive use in its publication (gold open access), on websites, on online archives or on repositories. This option – possible only if the article does not exceed 20% of the entire file – requires an article processing charge of € 500.00 for each article. The article will be covered by the Creative Commons License CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 Attribution NonCommercial NoDerivates 4.0 International and will be downloadable for free without the need for registration. With the Creative Commons License CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 Attribution NonCommercial NoDerivates 4.0 International you are free to share, copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format under the following terms:
Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
NonCommercial — You may not use the material for commercial purposes.
NoDerivatives — If you remix, transform or build upon the material, you may not distribute the modified material.
No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

INFORMATION NOTICE ON THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA V&P EVALUATION SERVICE FOR THE PUBLICATION OF JOURNAL ARTICLES
- Introduction
Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the “protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data” (hereinafter also “GDPR”), we are providing the information required on the processing of your personal data ("Data") performed by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (hereinafter also the “University”).
- Identity and contact details for the Data controller
The Controller of the processing of your Data is Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, with registered office in Largo Agostino Gemelli 1, 20123 Milan, telephone (+39) 027234.1.
- Categories of personal data
The Data processed by the University include Personal Data (name, surname and membership) and contact details (e-mail).
- Purposes of the processing and legal basis
Data collected will be processed for the following purposes:
- Delivery and management of credentials for access to IT resources and on-line services related to the use of the platform for the evaluation of content proposals for scientific journals published by Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore’s Vita e Pensiero – Publications.
- Dispatch of communications and information in order for your requests;
- Security and property protection purposes.
The legal basis of processing is constituted for purposes under a), b), by execution of the contract that you are a part of or execution of pre-contractual measures, for exemple registration and access to the platform and its services.;
For purposes under c), by the legitimate interest pursued by the Controller.
It is not mandatory to provide your Data, but an eventual refusal to do so will entail the objective impossibility to fulfil your requests and/or allow you to take part in courses, seminars, activities and events organised by the University and/or in collaboration with the latter.
- Processing methods
Personal Data are processed manually, digitally and electronically applying logics strictly connected to the purposes and, in any case, to guarantee the security and confidentiality of the Data pursuant to laws in force.
- Data storage period
The University will process the Data for the time strictly needed to achieve the abovementioned purposes, for a period not exceeding 3 years, with no prejudice to any storage terms established by law or regulations.
- Subject categories that the Data can be communicated to
Your data can be communicated to:
Public and private Bodies or competent Authorities, to comply with legal obligations or internal University regulations and to enable the service/supply of the service you requested;
Companies handling maintenance services for IT resources and on-line services made available to students and/or users.
Subjects belonging to the categories that data can be communicated to, will process the Data, based on the case, as Processors specifically appointed by the Controller pursuant to law, or as autonomous Controllers.
The list of Data Processors appointed is updated continuously and available from the University offices.
- Transfer of personal Data to countries extra EU
Personal Data can be transferred to non-EU Countries, in particular for services located outside the European Union (e.g. cloud storage). In that case, the Controller hereto assures that the transfer of data outside the EU will take place pursuant to laws applicable, for example after stipulating the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Union.

- Rights of the Data subject
As Data subject you have the right to:
- Ask the Controller to access, cancel, rectify if inaccurate, integrated if incomplete your data, and to restrict processing in cases set forth in Art. 18 of the GDPR;
- Object, at any time, in full or partially, to processing of Data needed for pursuance of the legitimate interest of the Controller;
- If the conditions for the portability right pursuant to Art. 20 of the GDPR exist, receive in a structured form, commonly used and readable with an automatic device the Data supplied to the Controller and, if technically feasible, transmit it to another Controller without hindrance;
- Revoke consent given at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory Authority.
