About the Journal

The Archivio di Psicologia, Neurologia, Psichiatria e Psicoanalisi began publication in 1939, under the direction of Agostino Gemelli, as a new proposal of the previous “General Archives of Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis”, of which Gemelli had been the founder together with the psychiatrist Marco Levi Bianchini.

In 1945 Agostino Gemelli changed the name of the journal to Archivio di Psicologia, Neurologia e Psichiatria.  Published by the Vita e Pensiero publishing house, the journal became the scientific expression of the Faculty of Psychology at the Università Cattolica of Milan.

The Archive of Psychology, Neurology and Psychiatry (ArchivePNP, former "Archivio di Psicologia, Neurologia e Psichiatria" APNP) is a peer-review Gold open access journal, with three issues a year, that publishes original contributions in the field of neuroscience with a specific focus on psychological, neurological and psychiatric aspects of human cognition and behavior.

The ArchivePNP considers for publication the results of both clinical and experimental researches on both typical and atypical subjects, in all age groups, if aimed at understanding cognition and behavior. Purely clinical descriptions can be considered only if they weigh truly novel aspects. Contributions that apply an interdisciplinary and translational approach are especially encouraged. Metanalyses, theoretical articles, position papers and reviews are also welcome.
